2020 Marching Spartans Registration Q&A Session

Hello Current and Incoming Marching Spartans Family!

We hope everyone is doing well and that you all are ready for a relaxing break before we begin a new school year and marching season! Welcome to our rising freshman families, we’re so happy to have you with us!

We wanted to let you all know that we will be holding a Q&A Session via Google Meets TONIGHT, Thursday, June 11th at 7:30 PM. Mr. Blanks will be sharing information about what how our Marching Season may work and we will be available to answer any questions that students and parents may have.  For security purposes, the link for the meeting will be posted on our website on the Marching Band Registration page after 7:00 pm this evening. We ask that families try to join us via a single screen to help keep our number of active screens to a minimum.

A word about recruitment: If you know of a student that may be interested to participate in the Marching Spartans program (and meet our enrollment requirements), please share the flyer linked below with them. We are especially recruiting for incoming Color Guard Members who may not have received information about our program if they were not in a band class. Color Guard does not have a class enrollment requirement and experience is not necessary. Please share our Color Guard flyer with any friends who may be interested.

Returning Marching Band Families Only: Before you move on to your summer activities, we ask you to register your student for the 2020 Marching Band season as soon as possible if you have not already done so. This will help us with planning and decision-making for the upcoming season.. We have set June 30th as the last day to register for the Marching Band program so that we can finalize drill spots. If you know that your student will definitely not be marching during the 2020 season, please send me a quick email at communications@brhsbba.org so that I can remove you from our email list.

Incoming Marching Spartans Families: Please be sure to join our BRHSBBA Facebook Group! We post a lot of announcements in the Facebook Group and this is a great place to meet other band families and ask questions.

Finally, for all Marching Band Parents: The BRHSBBA ordinarily elects their Board of Directors during our Annual Meeting that is held in May of each year. Due to the pandemic, we were forced to delay our election and have made a tentatively plan to hold an all-hands BRHSBBA Parent Meeting/Election on August 4th. We need your help! We have a number of BRHSBBA Seats that do not yet have a nominated candidate including: President, VP Fundraising, and VP Student Services. More information will be sent out shortly about the BRHSBBA Board Positions and we hope that several parents will volunteer to serve.
